Hello! I'm Justin, the Owner and Licensed Home Inspector at Hands On Home Inspectors LLC! I'm thrilled you are considering working with me as your trusted Home Inspector.
With over a decade of experience in all aspects of home building, I'm well-versed in the building process and know exactly what to look for when inspecting a home.
Having started swinging a hammer at about the age I could walk, I always knew construction was my calling and my passion. I took every opportunity to gain knowledge in this industry, including attending vocational classes throughout high school where I learned the basics and fundamentals of building a home.
Further, I worked as an electrician for many years while I progressed my skills and achieved my Builders License by the age of 19. I soon started up my own construction company. Having the fundamentals of building, passion, determination and drive, I knew I could make my company thrive.
My company started with basement remodels and remediation. We slowly evolved and expanded our specialty to include bathrooms, mold remediation, basement waterproofing, structural reinforcement of basement walls/crawlspaces, blown-in insulation, and more. Eventually, I took the business into new construction where we built fully custom homes for our clients. I felt it was important that my company perform as much of the work as possible to ensure quality control. For example, we rough-framed the house, installed the windows and doors, installed flashings, roofing, flooring, tiled the bathrooms, and much more.
In my personal time I would "flip" homes. I purchased old homes that needed significant amounts of work, and turn them into a warm, inviting forever homes. I learned what to look for when walking through old homes, as each era of home has specific things that were the common building method for that time period.
After doing many personal home inspections for my company, and home inspections for friends and family, I quickly learned there was a huge gap in the home inspection industry. This gap existed between what is necessary, needed, and required - and what is actually performed. I knew I could step in and simplify the process for home buyers and realtors, and provide real world, hands on experience that helps differentiate between actual issues and unnecessary scare tactics.
Hands On Home Inspectors LLC was born.
